  • The Ti leaf lei symbolizes the strength of the islands.  The Ti plant or Ki is considered sacred to the Hawaiian god, Lono, and to the goddess of the hula, Laka. It was also an emblem of high rank and divine power.  The Ti leafs are meticulously braided together and wrapped around a cowrie shell lei.   This lei will last longer than average flower lei and will dry very nicely.
